PERFORMING ARTS
What are the Performing Arts?
The performing arts are activities, such as drama, music, dance, acrobatics, mime, etc., that engage individuals and groups in using their voices, their bodies, musical instruments, and/or other tools in creative expression. Performing arts generally take place for the benefit of an audience and may be delivered live or recorded for later viewing.
A main feature of the Sanders County Arts Council 's performing arts work is an annual series of performances. Each series incorporates a wide variety of events that address different performance genres from many times and places, including musical storytelling, contemporary interpretations of traditional music, original composition, and much more. These performances offer our county-wide community a variety of experiences ranging from what is familiar and treasured to what is new and exciting.

tap·es·try
noun.
Tapestry is both a form of textile art in which designs are formed by weaving colored threads on canvas and it is a descriptor for an intricate or complex combination of things, often in sequence.
The Sanders County Arts Council chose “Tapestry” as the title of their Performing Arts Seasons to describe the rich diversity of the six performances in the series and to highlight that while each performance stands alone, their combined effect is greater than any single performance.
