Sanders County Arts Council

The Sanders County Arts Council will not be as visible as usual for the next several months.

We have cancelled or postponed our events and programs out of concern for the health of our residents and visiting artists and out of respect for needed redirection of public fundraising efforts to support food banks and other organizations providing direct assistance to those in need during this difficult time.

We will connect with the community through publications and technology as we explore and learn strategies to provide arts and culture virtually.

Please “like” us on Facebook and visit our website,, for ongoing updates.

Thank you for your steadfast support of our mission to enhance individual growth and community vitality through opportunities for artistic expression, learning, and appreciation.

The Sanders County Arts Council supports performing, visual, and literary arts countywide, as well as arts education in our schools.  Our mission is to enhance individual growth and community vitality through opportunities for artistic expression, learning and appreciation. Currently we sponsor a performing arts season and a series of visual arts events. This website provides detailed information on how you can take advantage of what we offer and how you can take part in our efforts.  Welcome!

Karen Thorson

Art Studio 376

Karen uses paint, glass, and clay to depict what is fundamental, striking, and memorable about a specific subject matter at a particular moment.  She strives to honor the character of a subject when choosing an artistic medium to satisfy a sense of adventure in creativity and to stimulate the senses of sight and touch.

Orvall Kuester

O. K. Photography

Orvall brings into vivid focus the beauty and mystery of the natural world.  With his camera always "at ready" he can instantly catch a fleeting moment of light or weather on the landscape -- or he can wait patiently until wildlife settles into a picture perfect pose.

No matter the subject, Orvall's photography has unparalleled vibrancy and intenseness that capture the spirit of what naturally surrounds us but often eludes our senses.
